New Old Man
I am 69 years old and parts of my body are hurting LOL. Some time ago, My doctor gave me some good advise. He suggested I get into biking again for exercise. I am not new to two wheelers as I worked on, raced, and loved motorcycles.
Todays bicycles are fascinating to me, compared to what I owned many years ago, but dirt bikes were my favorite, especially hill climbing when riding motorcycles. So naturally, I chose a mountain bike.
I looked for knowledge, for several weeks, and decided on a used higher end bike.
Ended up buying a Gary Fisher Joshua Z from a local thrift store, for my wife, and a Cannondale Special V 2000 for myself.
Both bikes were in near mint condition but needed tune ups and lubing.
I know these bikes are considered "vintage" but they serve us well for now.
Now, a question. What are some suggestions for a bike work stand. I don't want to spend a lot of money but don't want to purchase a cheap flimsy stand--If there is such a thing.
I am old enough to know "You get what you pay for--if your lucky!"

Hey Jiles,
Welcome to Bike Forums from a 73 y/o road rider.
Parks seems to make the best bike stands.

Welcome to the forums. Parks does make good stands, my personal preference is Feedback sports. I have both the classic and the sprint stand.

Welcome. My work stand is the previous version of the Feedback Sports Recreational. Nice stuff.

Welcome to Bike Forums. 70 years old here. I too have to recommend the Feedback Sports work stand. Got mine about 6 months ago from Amazon and I love it.
You're bikes aren't vintage. I don't consider my 2001 Litespeed vintage. We've just "grown up together".
Stop by the 50+ forum and say hello to the other old timers.
