Hello...
New guy here. Semi-retired tech writer, full time pain in the wazoo. Haven't ridden a bicycle in 30-some years, was a mildly fanatical gear nerd back in the Golden Age of lugged steel frames. Met Faliero, Sante, Cino, and Ernesto on a pilgrimage to the Holy City of Milano back in '72. Didn't have the jack to buy any of their wares, notwithstanding that a top o' the line Masi road bike was going for -- wait for it -- USD325.00 back then. Oh well.
Primary form of exercise these days is high intensity hill walking. Looking to get into interval training with a stationary bike as an adjunct to the walking. More on this in a subsequent post...
Anyway, just happy to be here and looking forward to vacuuming the knowledge out of your crania.

Welcome Strange to Bike Forums. You'd rather ride a stationary bike than be out riding in the fresh air? That doesn't make sense.

Ever been tagged by a car? Happened to me once and by sheer luck I got off easy but I'm not looking to press my luck any further. The relationship between cyclists and drivers around here is pretty antagonistic, and I don't need the aggro. My primary form of exercise is fast paced hill walking, and that gets me a couple of hours in the fresh air every day, so I got that angle pretty well covered.
Had a real car/bike mix-up last September. My beloved Cannondale CAAD10 was destroyed but it didn't deter me. The driver paid for my new SuperSix EVO carbon. I'm out all the time riding my Cannondale or my Litespeed.
If I let other people's actions determine what I did, I may as well just take a hand full of sleeping pills and .....
Sorry you're missing out on so much fun and fresh air but glad you found Bike Forums.
