Bicycle Junkies in da house!
Hi there,
We are Elmar & Ellen, aka the Bicycle Junkies. Born in The Netherlands and currently on a 2+ year tour across the Americas. We've been touring for more than 10 years (from 3-week tours to 3-month tours) all over the world.
Registered here to maybe help other bicycle tourers with our experience.
Elmar is a bicycle mechanic & salesman in a shop totally dedicated to bicycle touring and I worked as an internal communication manager / and parttime freelance photographer & travel journalist for a Dutch bicycle magazine before we left on our long tour.
Anyway, September 2013 we started cycling in Sao Paulo, Brasil - pedaled South to Ushuaia and continued the long way North through South- and Central America. Crossed Mexico and are now cycling the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route in the US. We'll continue to Canada and stop / go South to Vancouver once the winter hits.
We've been writing short blogs about our travels and share our photos on our website: Bicycle Junkies
Feel free to have a look around our website and if you have any question about a country / trip / bicycle, feel free to contact us here or through our site.
Hopefully we can contribute to this forum with useful information.
Happy travels,
Elmar & Ellen

Thank you 10Wheels!
Yes, they are interesting, we are cycling with the Pinion 1.18 internal gear box and Gates belt drive. We'll post our experience soon on our website.
