Hello, my name is Jeromie -
Hi everyone -
I'm returning to cycling after a nearly 20 year break (family, ARMY, moving, etc). Two days ago I made an off-handed comment to my wife about a biking event I wanted to do when I was in High School, but never got to because I joined the Service and left home. Now we're planning to ride in the Bike Across Kansas even next June, as a family. I am now working on the bikes that we do own, and am reading up on what kind of a bike I will need (leaning towards a Surly LHT) and figuring out how to train everyone for a ride that none of us are currently prepared for.
In my youth I was stationed in the ARMY at Ft. Huachuca, AZ - a great place for roadbiking - which I did a lot of, so I have some good background in cycling.
We are all very pumped about this - having a lot of fun planning and preparing for it too. I'm sure this forum will be a great resource.
I am an active member on several other forums; Rangefinder forum, PeachParts (diesel Mercedes forum) and LargeFormatPhotography forum.
Thanks,
Jeromie
