Mid Michigan Rider
Hey. Long time rider first time poster. Started riding in 91 when I was 38, you do the math. Try to log 1K miles every year but sometimes I come up short, 2 years ago I did 1400 mi. I started out riding a Schwinn Crosscut hybrid w/cro-moly frame but switched to a Trek 1100 road bike that I rode for many years. Used to ride a lot of centuries on that bike and a few on the Schwinn. I also had a steel Schwinn SS road bike with a carbon fork but around the time I bought that I started having some back issues and didn't ride it much. Fast forward to a few years ago I sold off the road bikes and a few other bikes and just kept the Schwinn Crosscut. I have upgraded it with new wheels and a 9 speed cassette plus switched out all the componets so that the only original parts are the frame, seat post and saddle. Still love to ride but not as fast as I used to. I had plans early this year to ride my first century in 10 years but some unexpected surgery this spring threw my training way off. Just got up to a 50 mile ride last week but hope to push it higher before the snow flies.
That's the short version of my cycling history. Some of my future plans are buying a used frame and building up some kind of custom bike but not quite sure which way to go, thought about getting an old Cannondale frame with the headshok but I don't really like aluminium frames. I also plan to spend more time on this site as the weather changes later this fall.

Kal Haven is 15 minutes from my house. I've ridden it quite often.
