Hybrid or not?
Hi , I'm looking for a bike that's comfortable for street riding and occasional dirt. Also want to sit upright . Suggestions? I'm tall.

Welcome!
Depends on what you mean by riding on dirt. A hybrid will allow you to ride on trails and grass paths but is not recommended for mountain biking. |
welcome to the forums... go to your lbs and tell them where you want to ride and what you want to accomplish...
they likely know your area better than we would and would have a better understanding of what it would take to accomplish your goals. |
Welcome to Bike Forums.
+1 on what obed7 said. Your bike shop is your friend. The shop owner or manager can get you on the right bike once s/he know what your plans are. Good Luck. |
Specialized Crosstrail Elite Disc Specialized Bicycle Components. Or, maybe even more bike for less money the Sport Disc Specialized Bicycle Components You won't be sorry! One of the greatest do it all bikes. The XL is a really big bike - fits my 6'4" grandson very well. MHO

Hey there
LBS is a good way to go. Also consider finding a good steel mtb frame, your local bike co-op, if there's one near you and learn to build your own. You'll learn lots and get just the bike you want. You might end up riding it for years! |
