Hello From Edmonton, Alberta
Hi everyone,
This is my first forum post about anything... ever. And although I am registered on a couple other forums (bikes, cars, guitars, etc) I have yet to really dive in. After creeping this forum for valuable information for years I guess I feel compelled to finally register and say hi.
I'm 36. One little one and another on the way. I race cyclocross (poorly) and get out to group rides as often as I can (infrequently). In my wild youth I was a bike courier in Toronto and played in bands before my 30s started making me feel like I was in a trash compactor of harsh realities. One thing I carry from those days though is my love of bikes.
I ride a couple bikes and am interested in refinishing and restoring old steel bikes. I also love the lost history of Canadian made bikes. So many talented frame builders that are just now starting to be celebrated for their fine craftsmanship (Proctor, Cyclops, Vini, Bernard to name a few)
Nice to meet you all,
Andrew
