Hello from the Midwest
By way of introduction I have been cycling for 30+ years now, some years more avidly than others. Recently moved out of Chicago and back to the wide open flatlands of central Illinois. I also recently rediscovered the joys of road bikes after almost 20 years of mtb riding. My neighbor was putting my current ride out for scrap collectors when I was fortuitous enough to be passing by and thought that scratched up frame was just too light and well crafted to be junked. So began my reintroduction to the joys of road biking on vintage steel frames. My UniVega rebuild is mostly complete and it's time to just ride it. I now know why these bikes have a loyal following, a solid, responsive and fast ride.
This forum has been a great help while figuring out what vintage components would be compatible. Thought I should join and share in the fun.
