New Guy From Buffalo
Hey all!
Some Google searches brought me here. Glad to be a member of what looks like a very helpful community of people. I received my grandfather's old Schwinn Continental (I'm sure that's a common theme around here) a few years ago. I took it out a few times but felt intimidated riding it out on the roads of Buffalo so the bike sat there unused for a couple years. A recent injury kept me from doing my normal long distance runs so I tried the bike again as a low-impact substitute to the runs. Turns out I friggin' love riding this thing. Buffalo started becoming a very bike friendly city since I took it out last. Discovered a bunch of nice paths that run along lake erie. Very addictive little hobby this can become. So Im thinking I might have a nice winter project of doing a full restore on this bike. I understand that it will never be a valuable bike but the sentimental value is through the roof. Just going through a couple threads here gave me a few ideas but I joined cause I KNOW I will have a ton of questions once I get going. |
