Hello from Chapel Hill, NC
Hey there!
Greetings from Carolina. I am a middle-aged rider who's coming back after a hiatus. Most of my bikes are old and had been in storage a while but have been recently tuned and lubed.
A recreational rider, I like to enjoy the view and stop for photos. Love old classic bikes and steel but am also in love with new equipment that works more reliably or comfortably than old tech. Hoping to do some touring and bike packing in the near future. Love to hear from other recreational riders in the RTP, NC area.
Bikes owned
Kogswell P/R with racks, dynamo, 650B/38's, Brooks
Mercier Serpens aluminum road bike w carbon fork 3x10 ultegra
Soma Smoothie ES - Build in Progress
Dawes Eclipse City - 700/32C tires and a mustache handlebar
Colnago steel rigid mtb - 26 inch
Surly Cross Check set up as gravel bike with 45mm Schwalbes and rack
Surly Disc Trucker - Build in Progress for a bikepacking rig for gravel
Cannondale 10 speed aluminum classic road bike
Cannondale V 700 MTB - 26 inch hard tail
a few others...

Thanks. They are oldies but goodies, all acquired used with careful shopping except the Dawes from BD. Been forcing myself to start learning some mechanical skills lately- the bill was steep to bring them to tip top shape after years of storage. Used to be too busy with work so the local bike shop got some nice support from me for a while but there's a little more free time now. We have a nice Bike coop in Carrboro nearby where volunteers teach in the Spring.
