Hello from DFW tx area
Hi, name is Bryan. 58yrs old, and very slow on a bike
Really went off the deep end this time, from the high diving board... started a month ago with a mountain bike, did not like it so much, a lower cost Trek, so ordered and now waiting on a Giant Talon 2, and also ordered a 2015 Cannondale Synapse 6 road bike. lol, I know... crazy. But what the heck. Besides the personal goal of improving my health ( a lot), I wish to venture into group rides on the road, and meet new people, make friends.
It will be a while before I have the distance and speed averages to join even a no drop ride.... probably just when the temps here hit 105...yuuch. I do wish I could foresee when that 10 to 15 mile distance and oh, 14mph average will be obtained!!
Right now 4 miles, 8mph avg is it! In my lame defense that was the 30lb trek with a decent headwind... excuses, excuses.
best regards to all !

Hi Bryan, glad to meet another Texan!! I'm from Abilene, and those 100 degree rides are murder!! Enjoy the riding, you'll be surprised how soon 15-20 miles will be just a good warmup!
