Wife's bike story. Huffy girl's 26" "Promotional"

In 1967 my wife's folks bought her a new Huffy. It had streamers and a light and a front carrier. Her folks told her it was the most expensive model when it was just a dolled-up, most basic bike. We're in our mid-60s now and I'd like to recreate that bike for her without her knowledge. I collect and restore classic cars, but have never restore a bike before, but I'm ready. I got two cars on the lawn at Pebble Beach so I'd like to take a crack at this.

It really don't care much about condition, but I'd like to find one complete. Huffy offered the same frame for nicer bikes and offered chrome wheels and fenders. One of the models is called the Camaro. It had a rear rack and a faux gas tank between the tubes. It had a distinctive shape to the tubes, along with their somewhat odd arrangement. The gusset between the tubes seems unique, too.

I understand that the same bike was offered through gas stations under a different brand name. One of those would do, too. If I get one I'll likely blog the build, like about a dozen projects, so far.

Here's the 1956 Continental that I'm doing a total mechanical restoration on right now.

VWVortex.com - Continental Mark II engine compartment freshening

Here's the catalog page from 1965, I believe. It's the bike on the far right.

The only side view I have.

Good front view.

Any help in locating one would be appreciated. I might entertain having it professionally restored, too.

Could you move it to where you think it's best suited to be?

IMO it is a worthy project... there are probably two or three places you should post this up...slanting it a bit in each of the sections...
while most folks would not consider a huffy a classic or vintage bike... the time frame you are looking at might be suited for the C&V section simply because the guys who hang out in there are more into those years...
you might also post in the mechanics section as guys there have technical knowledge and then in the general section just because it would be on interest there as well...and maybe the over 50 section as there are folks there who probably rode some thing just like it...so IMO there is no one best suited place. Hope you are able to surprise and please the wife.
