Hello from a 74 year old dude from Dacula GA
I am new to the Atlanta area, about two years ago we moved here from Boulder, CO. I did a lot of road cycling and mountain biking back there.
My first years living here I would go out to the parks and ride the bike paths and got some exercise. Then I had a fall, then I got hit by a car and frankly was terrified on getting back on a bike. That was last September.
So been working out at the gym, getting the legs in shape and hope to hit the trails/paths this week.
I will probably look to purchase a new bike, hybrid most likely. I have owned a lot of bikes in my 30 years of riding: cyclocross, mountain, hardtail and full and of course road.
I have an old Trek mt bike, no shocks and a Cannondale Synapse. The latter is the one I got hit on.
Turned 74 last September and I know that cycling has kept me younger than most guys my age.

Your 75th is coming up, I think that's the Ti b-day .......... Litespeed is just up the road from you, just saying. Welcome to the forum and I hope you're able to put the bad luck behind you and get back out on the road.
It's been discussed here before and said that drivers down south are very bike un-friendly, what's your take on that? Was your incidents due to a careless or dangerous driver?

Welcome to Bike Forums. I'm 71 and moved from Decatur 3-1/2 years ago to west central Florida. Too much traffic in the ATL area. My ride back then was from the house in Decatur out to Stone Mtn on the bike path. Then I'd do 2-4 laps around the mtn and head home. Great workout.
Must be a Cannondale thing. I was hit on my CAAD 10 in 2014.
Glad you joined us. Have fun.
