New commuter in Austin TX

Ok, I'm not new, been here most my 37 years, but new to the group here. I have ONE BIKE. A commuter SChwinn Le Tour from 1988. I love it. I really want to try out fixed gear though. I have a friend that's a bike messenger downtown, and I love his bike. It's a real beater, but really simple. That's why I like it.

Howdy, and welcome fellow Texan/Commuter. Maybe you can help me figure out a way to have AC on bikes, oh then that would take the simplicity out of SS riding.

What's up. I commute in the Dallas area. I'm going to be in Austin Saturday to meet some friends for a Hill Country tout. The heat is kickin' in here. This year has been pretty good so far. I think we're going to be over 90 today. I'm sure triple digits aren't far away. Here we go. It's time to bolt on those second and third water bottle holders.

Yo, UT student commuter here. Have fun with the fixed; I live on Far West, so doing the hill over Mopac on a fixie isn't something I'd like to contemplate.
