Greetings from Vermont!
Hi all,
I've been a roadie for the past 38 years. I currently live in Stowe, Vermont, and I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm looking forward to the discussions on this board!

Thanks, Rumrunn6. Yeah, EVERYTHING in Stowe is expensive--it's a tourist town, with all the typical trappings.
I'm primarily a roadie. I have a very old mountain bike that is in dire need of some upgrades, but I hardly ride it anymore.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.
Robert765, I have a 1978 hand-built Holdsworth that was refurbished in 1987, which has been my faithful steed for all these years. However, I inherited a 1986 Vitus 979 a couple of years ago from a dear friend, and I've been refurbishing it over the winter. It's turned into a major project, and of course, a lot more money than I first envisioned. It's a total rebuild, with an Omni Racer Ti-ceramic bearing BB, Woodman Axis SL Comp headset, Campy alloy Chorus crankset, and new Mavic CXP Pro wheels with the original Dura Ace 7400 hubs that came with the bike. I laced and trued the wheels myself, which was fun! The Vitus came with a Dura Ace 7400 group set, and the bike itself probably only has 10K miles on it, so everything is in very good condition. It's also a small frame (52cm), and slightly undersize for me, but Vitus frames had a reputation for being "whippy" and most people chose to ride undersize frames for that reason. Sean Kelly raced on Vitus bikes, and did the same thing. Anyway, I'm excited about riding it--the bike should be completed in the next couple of weeks. I'll post some pics of it on the forum when it's done.
