Hello From South Korea
Good Day all,
my wife and I are 2 South Africans currently living in South Korea.
We were somewhat taken with the idea of making biking our preferred mode of 'vacation travel' when we backpacked Europe in 2015. We rented out bikes a couple of times in different countries, just for day trips, but that was enough to convince us. We moved to South Korea later in 2015 and bought ourselves some bikes while here.
We're both on Giant Escape 3s, with a couple of extras here and there and now a full set of Ortlieb panniers as well. We completed our first tour last week, when we road from Seoul to Busan, here in Korea. +-650 kms over a 7 day ride. It was amazing!! Now we're already planning the next two big trips. One will take us through parts of Japan and back into Korea, and the other will be China/Mongolia/andbeyond in a year or so.
I look forward to all the discussions and expertise that I'll find here in the forums.
Thanks
Oliver

Welcome, take a look at the "Touring" forum. Many other long distance riders there.
Also, consider putting your location in your profile. It may lead to useful info down the road.

That was quite a ride. I remember taking a bus from Kunsan AB to Seoul and it seemed like it took forever.
