Hi from Steve in Kyoto, Japan.

Hello there, I'm Steve.
I became a member about 2 weeks ago and didn't get around to introducing myself.
I currently live in the most beautiful city in Japan called Kyoto.
Previously I lived and was born on the Gold Coast in Australia.
I've been riding road bikes since 1995 when I bought a basic cro-mo "Dunlop" brand bike. I moved onto a Giant CFR1 in 1996, and recently upgraded the frame to an ORBEA Mitis 2 + carbon. You can view it on the post (under forum title Road Cycling) "what road bike do you have" thread number #2160.
Take Care Out There,
Steve.

I visited Kyoto last year. Great place and heaps of people riding bikes. I thought Nara and Hiroshima were pretty cool as well. In fact it's hard to go past Japan as a great destination to visit.

Have you visited Himeji Castle (about 30 minutes from Kobe on the Shinkansen)?

I'd like to go back and trek around Hokkaido at some point.

Hi Johnny Monkey, Yes I went to Himeji Castle about three years ago. It's an incredible structure. I haven't been to Nara or Hiroshima, but will definately get to Hiroshima soon. My brothers were there 5 weeks ago and believe it was one of their highlights during their trip.
The temperature is perfect for riding now, not too hot and not too cold.
Steve.
