Hello from N.C. side of the road with my first flat tire

I just got into this painful sport a couple of weeks ago and I have been reading that I should have a emergency Roadside kit. Now I'm the kind of person that throws caution to the wind and thinks that it won't happen to me. I am sitting on the side of the road about 12 miles from the house with a flat tire and no way to fix it

That's what I get for not taking the advice I have read on this forum so far. Oh well lesson learned. Gonna walk home, get it fixed, and keep going. I need to do 20 miles today

Welcome to the forum, from another NC member. The kit is small and cheaper than many alternatives! The sport will not be painful once you get used to it, once you realize 1-fit, 2-fitness and 3-contact areas (putting it nicely) get used to 1 and 2.

Welcome to Bike Forums. You'll find several threads about what to carry in your seat pack for emergencies in the Geneal Cycling Discussion forum and the Road Cycling forum.
Good luck.

Hi and welcome. I don't know exactly how many, but I have had dozens of flats over the years. Always have a tube and pump with you, or the bike gods know.
