Hello from Greater Manchester, UK!

Hi everybody, mature music student and Greater Manchester cyclist here!

I've been cycling on and off all my life but I've recently decided it's going to be 'the way' for me, so I upgraded to a Voodoo Marasa and registered here :waves: and a few other forums. i'd say a semi casual rider, my minimum daily cycle is 16k but they're a mellow 16.

I'm really liking the Voodoo, it's probably a pretty average mid range hybrid but after a lifetime of "it'll do" bikes it's a completely different feel. for a hybrid a feel like it's even got a touch of BMX to its handling... i could write poetry about this bike, but this is already getting wordy.

My main route is the relentlessly boring Atherton - Salford on the guided busway and East Lancs road, both of which seem to have fierce omni-directional winds. I cycle for fun all over in areas west of the city though. Planning on a trip to the Quays and Trafford if I can trust Aunty Beeb re: the weather this weekend!

Look forward to reading all your posts anyway!

Hi Chris (can you hear me from over the Atlantic?) We're glad to have you as a member! It sounds like you found the right bike. Will they let you ride it over Millennium Bridge?

Welcome to Bike Forums. The folks in the Commuting forum can offer suggestions should you need any. And to meet local folks you can stop by the UK regional subforum. Have fun.

Hi Chris!

Are you studying at RNCM? I've been living in Manchester for 2-3 years or so. In fact I got my first Jamis bike there. So long memories.

Look forward to read your posts!
