Hello from Los Feliz, Los Angeles!

Hey All,
I just wanted to say hello to the fine folks here. I'm a long time lurker so I figured it's about time to check in on the intro page. Sadly, I haven't ridden a road bike in a while. I sold my '82 (I think) Celeste Bianchi Campion del Mondo some time ago when someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Of course, I have regretted it since that day. I got that frame in trade and built it up using non-NOS used period parts. I'm a little tough on bikes, living in the city, so I am quite happy with patina, scratches, torn seats, etc. It makes acquiring parts MUCH cheaper, too. :-) I just picked up another bike and parts on Craigslist for the Winter Project. This bike in better shape than the Bianchi, so I'll take my time with it. I believe it to be a '78-'79 Colnago Super. It's that great Colnago dark blue with yellow decals. I plan on using all period correct Campy SR parts. I've got most of the right parts (pantographed cranks, seat post, etc.) but I still need a few things. I've included a picture of my old Bianchi after I completed it and the Colnago that I am using as a template for my build. I will post a thread about the Colnago as I get further along. I look forward to hearing any opinions and, perhaps, helpful hints as I begin this build. I very much appreciate all the resources and knowledge of this forum. Ride on! Billy

Hi, Billy, from Bill, welcome aboard. That 'Nago looks like a true winner of a winter's project. Like mentioned above, be sure to postsome pics of it in the Classic and Vintage Forum, when you have the time. We all have a bike or three we regret letting go, just put it in your happy memories column and channel the energy into your Colnago.

Your old (former) Bianchi is great. The details are perfect.

You set a high bar for the Colnago.
