Hello From Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

hello my name is John. male, married, 50 y.o.
I got into mtn biking way back in the early 90's , my bike is a rigid CroMo frame/fork Alpine Stars with 26" that i beat the crap out of for the first 6-7 years, then kids came along and my biking pretty much just is ridding the rail-to-trails. I still have the bike and ride it fairly regular, but it is getting tired. Time to splurg and buy a new bike. That's why i'm here! I don't plan on doing the crazy trail ridding i did back then , but i still like the dirt a little. Mostly though i been ridding the montour trail, panhandle trail , and Great allegheny passage. More about the fun of getting outdoors than i am about fitness or working out. A good time ridding for me is if i've seen some deer or other interesting sights.

Welcome to Bike Forums young man. I'm a 71 y/o roadie. If you still want dirt you could get a mtn bike or a cyclocross bike or a gravel bike. Look thru the forums that interest you for ideas, suggestions and any needed help. Have fun.

I am a cyclist. I am not the fastest or the fittest. But I will get to where I'm going with a smile on my face.
