Hello from Waxahachie, TX!
I'm new to the forum, but not to cycling. I'm a gear head by nature and I love working on bikes. I've commuted for many years and enjoy road riding on all types of bikes. I'm looking forward to a lot of fun conversations.
Thanks, Bob |
Welcome Bob. Do you do any group rides?
|
I used to do a lot of charity rides and (what I call) "T shirt" rides. I've done the Hotter'n'hell a few times and even tried the Texas Iron Butt. Haven't done any for a long time, though.
|
BTW, I see someone sent me a private message. Problem is, I can't see it until I've put in 10+ posts.
|
Welcome to Bikeforums. You are near some good organized rides. You can see events at Texbiker.net

Welcome to bike forums. Waxahachie? Most everyone who sees that wont know how to pronounce it unless they're from Texas. My daughter lives there and I'm about an hour south of you. What kind of bike do you have?
Enjoy BF. |
welcome to the forums, lots of Texans on here.
|
Dang these Texans are multiplying faster than a rabbit warren, welcome aboard the BF family.

Thanks Texbiker, I'll check it out. I spent a lot of time in the hospital last year and I'm looking forward to working my way back up to a century.

Ooh raah, Semper Fi,brother, we have a big day coming up next week, 10 November 1775 and the birthday of the Corps. Tun Tavern, Philadelphia, Pa. T
That is quite a bike collection you have, very impressive and eclectic, you should be right at home here, try out the Classic and Vintage Forum, as well as the Road Cycling Forum. Hospital time, I won't go there, 16 cuttings in 10 years was plenty for me. Hope that its all over in that department for you, glad you got back to your cycling. Bill |

Close enough! Ennis is a nice little town. My niece and I used to take our Saturday morning ride down 287 to Ennis on our way to Bardwell. Thanks for the welcome.
Bob Bardwell reservoir is really cool, providing the water is up. And I bought a motel style AC there. That area is really nice heading towards Italy. I wouldn't have the guts to ride my bike through there because of no room but a motorcycle ride would be ideal. |

A friend of mine was placed in a coma (later died) on that long stretch of road going to the lake. Head on collision. |
There are lots of folks here who like to work on bikes more than they like to ride them. Welcome!
