Hello From Connecticut

Hi, I am Mike Dutton. I live in Connecticut. I like riding and now am getting back into working on bikes, mostly buying, fixing up and restoring older bikes to make them roadworthy for new owners. My niece recently rode a mid 70's Fuji sport bike for an afternoon, she loved the bike but could not get over the fact there was no indicator for her gears. My riding is almost all with road bikes with a bit of off roading mostly to test the bikes I'm working on.

welcome to the forums...none of my bikes have indicators for the gears either and 3 of them are less than 3 years old...having an indicator would freak me out.

Welcome to Bike Forums. When I worked at a bike shop repairing bikes I didn't see that many bikes with gear indicators. And neither of my road bikes have indicators. Don't need it.

I am a cyclist. I am not the fastest or the fittest. But I will get to where I'm going with a smile on my face.

Welcome aboard BF, Mike, seems like your niece has been riding bikes with those twist grip shifters possibly. Give her a little time on the Fooj and she should come to appreciate the much lighter weight and handling. And, drop by the Classic and Vintage Forum, and the Mechanics Forum, they should be right up your alley. Glad to have you join in here with us.
