hello out there

I'm new to site. Been riding about 7 years. I am an in shape 71 year old. Just retired. I primarily ride a trek road bike and have a hybred for just tooling the neighborhood. have started going to a local non-profit do it yourself bike shop this summer. Very cool place. I want to learn to do all basic repairs. I have not been able to figure out how to do a new post. After I long in and pick a forum I don't see a box to enter thread, help. Also I was not able to post images due to some security issue, any help there?

Welcome,

You certainly are starting out right learning to do your own repairs. That's important to know even if you never do anything yourself. It's tough getting stranded with a problem and not know how to get going again.

As far as starting a new thread, you should see a blue button to start a thread right above the listing of all existing threads. The system also limits new members in posting images. This is part of the controls to reduce spam. A moderator needs to approve the image before it posts.

Glad you found ge site and enjoy yourself. The learning experience here is amazing.

Welcome aboard Stan, kudos on attending the bike maintenance course at the local bike co-op. You should check out the 50+ and the Mechanics Forums, they might be just what you are looking for. Lots of us seniors around so make yourself at home.
