Newbie from Nebraska
Hello! I'm a newly re-interested bike rider and collector from Nebraska.
I took up bicycling again a little over a year ago to get some exercise while I was caring for my elderly mother. At that time, I bought a 2015 Trek 8.5 DS and rode it for about a year. It's a nice bike that isn't getting too much riding these days.
This Spring, I had my old, 1980 Trek 414 that I bought new during my first year of college rejuvenated and I've been riding it some since then. I bought it with upgraded Suntour Cyclone derailleurs and Superbe brakes and it is still stock except for the saddle, and consumable items like cables, tires, brake pads and hoods.
Getting the Trek re-done led me to acquiring a couple of older bikes and one new one. I now also have a 1988 Schwinn Voyageur, a 1972 Raleigh Record that is now a single speed, and a 2016 Masi Speciale Randonneur. I also have three bike projects underway: a 1987 Specialized Sequoia, a 1988 Trek 660 and a 1970 Hercules three-speed.
I'll get around to posting pictures of the older bikes in the vintage forum, but thought I should check in here first.
Howdy!
