Greetings from San Diego, California

Hello, My name is Duane and I'm from San Diego. I've been a lurker on bikeforums.net since the end of 2015 when my wife in brother in law got me my first bike (Freedom beach cruiser) since I was a kid. I wanted something simple to ride around on in my neighborhood. They found the cruiser on Craigslist and disassembled everything and reassembled/greased what needed it and painted the bike a great matte black. It was a great Christmas surprise. I rode it off and on for the last year and a half.

I got a little deeper into my other hobbies for a while but when my boss went on a three week vacation in June of this year I decided to commute on the cruiser to work. I live about than two miles away with a relatively flat commute so it's not too bad. I sweat but bring a change of clothes and have different work shoes. I've only missed about a week of commuting on my bike since June from when I bruised my tailbone jet skiing and when my Great Dane has been sick.

I'm currently researching for an upgrade bike as I like my cruiser but I want to push myself more and get a bike that fits me better.

Fun facts - my father in law is the creator/founder/everything for JAD Bikes from back in the day. JAD is named after my wife and brother in law.

Welcome to Bike Fourms.

I've not heard of JAD before. Interesting looking bikes.
