Greetings from the UK
Hi, my name is Ian, from the UK. I'm a bit of a road cyclist with a love of vintage bikes. Done a few Eroica rides and my current bike for these is a 1982 EG Bates. I bought that mostly as is, of eBay (the frame and wheels were NOS, so it's pretty immaculate condition for a 35 year old bike) - it's currently a mixture of vintage and retro-styled parts - Velo-Orange and so forth. My plan is to try and replace those retro parts with vintage ones.
My current project is a 1949 Paris Cycles Tour de France frame which I want to restore with all period parts. I fell for the look of the frame, but now it's slowly dawning on me what a task this might be, which is why I've joining some forums with a view to getting some advice from folks.
Cheers
Ian
