Biking Again after several (or a little more :) years
Hi All, I am looking forward to getting some great advice on this forum. I have recently lost some weight and I am looking for ways to make sure I maintain it. I want to bike year round so I have bought a very cool Trixter spinning bike for the winter and I have two Fuji Touring Series III bikes that I want to merge into one. See you on the forum and thanks in advance for the advice

Wow, AWESOME. Riding a bike is a built in diet and super fun! I can't go a day without riding in some fashion. Have a young son, so not much time for long rides, but I do get to commute to work daily and usually fit in a Sunday morning ride.
If you haven't been on open roads in awhile, I'd suggest going to an empty parking lot and working on looking over your shoulder while still maintaining a straight line. This is a big help in traffic. And I find that a peek at drivers making you nervous with their speed/approach, really helps them chill out. It's like unless you look, they think you're a robot or something.
Good luck. Remember that with every ride, you'll be in better shape and a better bike handler. I've been almost wholly car free since 2002.
