NC Outer Banks Cyclist

Good afternoon,
Decided to make it legit with an introduction.Been a forum member since '09 and have enjoyed the immensity of knowledge available, mainly in Bicycle Mechanics. Rode '87 Cannondale SR 500 for decades as well a late '70's Raleigh steel bike. Now own a '07 Mark Nobillette Rivendell Road custom as well as a '08 to me (c. 1980?) SS Nishiki Royal (Circle A Cycles refurb: paint/top tube replacement). Also in stable '88 Cannondale SR 500(spouse's OEM bike) redone as 650B . Hope's this is what an intro is .

We're glad that you finally uncloaked. Nice collection of bikes.

I was out to OBX a few weeks ago, brought my beater bike to get some miles in up and down highway 12 around Kill Devil hills. Question is- if you ride there a lot, how do you keep the blasted sand from getting into everything on your bike? I only rode on pavement, sand go into everything. Beautiful place.

I should clarify that I am on Roanoke Island, NC--the island before the beaches and after the mainland. Seldom venture to the "beach road" these days, but do understand the sand situation. Yes, beautiful but sandy

The 2nd time I've used small world today !!! My older brother Mike Deal went to school with you and I was a few years younger than your brother John. I'm Ken Deal from the red haired Deal boys....our Dad ran a TV shop. We were on the other end of Bordeaux (412).

Welcome. My wife and I love Roanoke Island. We always thought we would end up living in Manteo at some point but didn’t make it.

Stan
