Hi! From Istanbul

Hey there, I've been following the forums for quite some time now.

After a 10-year break, got back into cycling last summer. Few months with a fitness bike, then in Dec I upgraded to a Canyon Endurace (I bike commute to work, so I got the aluminum version...) and things have been good.

Since then I've been in a few minor accidents and two front-wheel rebuilds (uneven rim after crashes... luckily dt swiss rims for the stuff I have is somewhat inexpensive) and about 10 or so close calls...

Welcome. We’re just getting lots of Canyons here in the US. Great bikes but slow in coming here.

Why, how do San Franciscans cycle?

On messenger bikes. Fixed gear, no brakes. Weaving in and out of traffic. On streets, sidewalks, where ever those bikes will fit.

Heh, that sounds like the food delivery mopeds (if you can call them that) around here. They'll go through no traffic areas, and (if in a pinch) sidewalks and even drive the wrong way on one way streets.

I've read a bit lately about Istanbul traffic. The only area of the world to offer a challenge is Mumbai. Welcome.
