Hello from Kentucky!

Hey guys and gals my name is Jake! Just bought my first real bike which also happens to be my first ever road bike. 1977 (I think) motobecane super mirage which thanks to you people I know is a quality bike. Only taken it around the block a few times so far, still gotta get a helmet to project the noggin, but I cant wait to put some serious miles on this old beauty. I’m a engineer by trade so I’m not sure which I’m more exited for, the riding or the tinkering. Either way just wanted to stop by and say hello! See you on the open road!

Where in KY?
I have friends in Louisville, Bowling Green and a little town near Mammoth Cave NP.

Started with a frenchie, eh?
Watch those threadings and sizes. Anyone's miscalculation in the past can REALLY cause you headaches, if not experienced and/or careful. Yes, even you engineer types.

Hang around - especially beneficial for vintage bike riders & collecters.

I’m in the Lexington area but grew up not to far from the bowling green area.
Oh trust me the engineer in me throughly researched these bikes before purchasing so I know all about those wacky French specs haha! Luckily the bike is pretty much stock sans a new back wheel. And my only upgrades planed are barend shifters, new tape, new saddle, and maybe a rack or two for some overnight touring.
