Hi, I've actually had an account for years. But never posted. This site is an awesome resource!
I have been riding for three years. And commute year round through Minneapolis. I mostly ride my heavily customised 1980 trek 412. I usually manage just over 5000 miles a year. I like to consider myself a mediocre mechanic, at least when it comes to 80's and 90's bikes.

Wow! That’s more miles than me. I’m impressed. I agree that there are some good people here with good information. I haven’t been on this very long, but welcome! I have a early 80’s Volkscycle that has been hanging in my barn for a long time unridden and needs lots of help. I often wonder if it’s worth any attention since it never was a high end bike, but did buy it in a bike shop.
