Touring soon... Forum of cyclist, yeah!

I'm glad I found this forum. I don't do social media or discussion forums; this is an exception. I joined because after months of bike build research and reading "touring blogs", I'm almost complete purchasing my bike parts. I've been a daily commuter and weekend rider for several years now. I'm ready to leave on a journey! I'm pretty much done with my job, house is getting ready for subletting and taking off around September/October this year after doing Ragbrai in August. I'm learning about bikes, even though I been riding most my life. Thanks for allowing me to this community.

Welcome!

FYI, Ragbrai is at the end of July, not August.

Welcome, I love Bike Forums. I have been given a whole of help and information regarding the maintenance and other work on bikes. The bicycle eye candy alone makes the visit to BF worthwhile. I hope you enjoy your bike life!

[QUOTE=bobwysiwyg;20797278]Nice footage of Ragbrai.

Thank you for posting the video, greatly appreciated. So inspiring, I have to admit, I don't race; not competitive a just enjoy the ride. I did a race last summer, a drifted off looking at the scenery of hills, ponds, nature, I forgot what I was doing until i was pasted up by a rider 15 years my senior... It was funny! I'll do this ride fully loaded.
