Hello from New Orleans area
Hello fellow cyclists from New Orleans area (Covington). I'm just getting back into cycling and am loving the challenge. I ride a Windsor Hour Plus SS w/ a freewheel cog (48/16T) & now I totally understand the "religious experience" I've heard alot re: how much closer one feels with the bicycle
& the road riding w/ (1) gear. The silence & simplicity are impossible to describe. It's like floating...except when you coast and the clicks of the cog remind you your riding one of the most ingeniously simple machines ever devised.

Yuck. I lived in Metairie for 3 years. Worse place to ride ever. Maybe north of the toile... I mean Lake, is better.

Hello from Metairie. The Levee paths here are fantastic. That's a good thing too, because the roads are horrible for riding unless you ride them early on a weekend morning.

Their making more & more bike lanes. I think The Big Easy would make for one helluva Alleycat race from the Lakefront thru City Park cemetary (think Easy Rider) ending in the Quarter. No rules, no laws, just three checkpoints & $1,000 for the winner.

How can they even fit in bike lanes? And they aren't going to work on the bridges, no room at all there. You are stuck on the little canal islands unless you risk death going across a bridge.
