Hello from California!

Good morning Gents,

New here and fairly new to riding. Currently pumping out 25 mile every other day bike sessions to get some legs under me.

The reason I got into cycling is a 3 factor.
  1. I kept injuring myself by only running.
  2. I wanted to add in some less impact cross training, as such my new goal is to start some triathlons.
  3. I refuse to let my post-military self become a fat body.
So far I have really enjoyed myself and will continue to do so.

First road bike was a 2010 Specialized Tarmac SL3 Expert with Zipp 202 wheels.

I am upgrading to a 2018 Tarmac Sl5 Comp with ultegra package and Enve carbon wheels, seat post, stem, and handle bars.

Ill most likely look to sell the 2010 Tarmac SL3 and then purchase a tri/tt bike and have 1 road and 1 tri bike.

Looking forward to seeing my fellow spandex warriors on the road, cheers!

Welcome! I expect your enjoyment of cycling will grow as you become able to do significant mileage. FWIW, for those who can't let go of politics during the time spent on BF, there is a P&R section.:thumb:

Welcome from SoCal!

Find your local cycle clubs, they are a great resource and get you out of bed on the weekends for the weekend rides early in the morning. They are a great source of motivation to ride. Cheers and happy adjusting to civilian duty.

Unusual greeting!

Unless you're another English Gent hiding out in CA.

Mostly flats although I am ways down to venture out.

I usually am riding after work and don't have time to drive to hills.

My office is on the Santa Ana river bed so it makes it easy to knock out a ride right after work.
