Hi from Dayton
I have been a member of this forum for over 10 years but apparently I don't post very much. I'm a longtime reader though and I am super grateful for this forum as I have found so many answers to all kinds of questions. I'm a woman and don't find many women to share this interest, so if there are any ladies out there please say hello!

Welcome! That's cool that you enjoy tinkering with your "frumpy old bikes". I live in Dayton too, BTW!

Good to see your post and welcome. I sort of like to tinker with my bikes. I like riding them much more. I have been riding road bikes for close to 40 years, but started to purchase tools and do the mechanical work about 2 years ago. I did basic cleaning/lubing before, but used LBS for anything more. BikeForums members have a big help, as well as videos from youtube, Parktool, etc.
