It's been a while...
It's been a while since I've had much saddle time. Injury pushed me off the bike, then life made it difficult to rehab. Now, more than 20 years later, I'm trying yet again but finding it difficult and BOY has a lot changed.
I couldn't even remember that I even already had a username and password for here/this site. Fortunately, I remembered the password. Thankfully, when I went to create a registration it recognized that I had created one back in 2015...
Anyway, looking forward to contributing however I may and gleaning new knowledge from you young whipper-snappers.
For starters... how on earth is MAVIC going bankrupt when they were the FIRST to have electronic shifting, which is now "all the rage"? And what the heck is SRAM? They were the makers of "grip****" yet now they are a top-tier component manufacturer? Apparently fat tires are now faster, as are long socks? Whatever happened to the day when the USCF (heck, even THAT acronym dates me) mandated white socks and some people were rumored to "paint" on socks so they wouldn't have the drag that real socks would create... Did the turn of the century change the laws of physics or something???!?!?
