Old bicyclist's getting back into it.😉

So needed a place where I could ask for advice on how to fix and maintain some older bikes. I started in the 80' s and got hooked then somewhere along the line I just stopped. Now want to get back into in. Have a nice road bike, GT Course. A folding bike- Fuji Oragami and a commuter bike- Marin San Rafael. I'm a registered nurse in Orange Co, California. Thank you for allowing me into the fold. T

Welcome,
As a newbie you can upload pictures into your gallery. Other members can provide a link to your gallery.
Otherwise you will need 10 posts over 2 days to get the ability to post pics and links.
Classic and Vintage forum will have a bunch of 80's bike posts to help you.

Welcome! I rode in the OC in the late 70’s through the mid 80’s. I lived briefly in Irvine and Huntington Beach then moved back to L.A. but my buddy stayed in HB. I used to go to Two Wheel Transit Authority to shop and have my 1983 Trek 760 repaired. I still own the bike.

I ride with various groups and one of my groups, the Old Cranks, has riders in their 60’s and 70’s. You’re never too old to cycle! I’ve ridden with riders in their 80’s, both male and female.

The modern bikes are just so much more efficient, especially with lower gears, but I ride both modern and old steel vintage bikes.

Have fun and stay safe!
