Making PVC windows in the JACK TAYLOR factory !

I live in Stockton on Tees England . I bought my Jack Taylor T.O.B 753 in 1988 , so i visited the Taylor factory several times in late '87 and early '88 . It was a great place , so interesting and the brothers we very friendly and chatty , they would make me a cup of tea and toast me a thick slice of bread by holding it up to a gas heater with a stainless bike spoke ! They enjoyed showing me their photo albums full of pictures from "the old days". They wer'e very proud of the pictures of the Prince Charles factory visit . A large part of the workshop was taken up by Norman's Willys Jeep spares , he told me he had owned more than 20 over the years.
Not very long after they closed the factory the building was used by a PVC window and door manufacturer . Having experience in this kind of work i ended up working there for a while , i was operating the "double headed saw" in the room where Norman built my frame . It was strange making such a boring dull product in a place where craftsmen had made things of beauty for so long . The window firm were not there for very long and then the building was demolished .
