Greetings from Florida!
Hello BF community! I am a 65 y.o. retired gentleman interested in getting back on my bicycle(s). My enjoyment of bicycling started out back in the early 70's with the purchase of a beautiful yellow Schwinn Super Sport. I purchased that bike with my own hard-earned money and was certainly proud of it! I put many miles on that bicycle as it was my only mode of transportation as a young teen. Sadly, it was stolen from my house at one point and never recovered. :-( My current bike stable includes a Cannondale R300 which I purchased in 1995 and a 2005 Trek 520 that I purchased used a few years ago. I am getting the Trek up to speed with new tires, brake pads, maintenance, etc. to start putting some miles on it. I have a Brooks saddle on it I need to break in as well. I think the Brooks has a nostalgic element for me as that is what I had on the Schwinn back in the day. We'll see if my posterior agrees! Since retiring I am finding myself enjoying the sedentary lifestyle a little too much. So I feel the need to get up and get moving, thus back in the saddle. This is an amazing forum with an active community. Thanks for letting me be a part!
