MB Girl

Hello! Canadian girl from Manitoba, got into cycling a few years ago (prepandemic!) after I bought myself a cross bike to use as a commuter. Managed to get a 100km ride in my 2nd year back on the bike. Covid hit me hard, now back up to 40km and would like to get up to 60-80km rides before winter!

Welcome. Winter is coming. An indoor trainer might be just the ticket for the long winter.

i actually bought a magnetic spin bike and a power meter for it during the pandemic! I love it, especially paired with Onelap. (I find Zwift too gamified). Was using it regularly till Covid, now looking forward to getting back at it once summer and fall cycling season ends.

Well, the Pandemic is a good thing in some ways, isn't it?

Your site name is "MB Girl", should change it to "Gravel Girl". Welcome in any event.

Greetings from south-coastal Delaware. Your winter arrives a lot earlier, and last a good bit longer. I do not see much snow here, but occasionally a winter storm will dump 1 to 2 feet. I am able to bike year 'round, most years, in relative comfort with appropriate wear. It is always good to hear of a person's progress, keep pedaling and enjoy the ride.

Haha, I've mostly been riding on pavement/trails in Winnipeg. Have a bad problem with agressive dogs out here in the country. I may be fast when a dog is snarling and chomping at my heels but it's not the kind of adrenaline rush I enjoy!
My main bike is an Opus cross bike that I love as a commuter. Though I just won a (supposedly-but-not) Litespeed vintage titanium MTB that I'm excited to clean up for a bit and try out!
