Hello from London. No sudden noises please.

Hello. Regarding the title, I'm sure I can't be the only Londoner who is a bit jumpy at the moment. I've been spooked enough to finally get around to purchasing a bike and riding to work and back, about 7 miles each way. It's been 3 weeks now and its true, it does get easier. I think I'm lucky as there are no real hills to puff me out, its all pretty flat. Just have to watch out for a wicked NW wind which seems to have it in for me some mornings.

I'm glad to be out on the road though and away from public transport, particularly the tube (London Underground railway). There's a lot spoken at the moment about how brave we all are and just getting on with it but I'm sure most people just have no alternative method of getting to work. I consider myself lucky that i can ride my bike to work and have somewhere safe to keep it there. Just wish we had a decent (cold) shower at work as i'm still a bit prone to over-heating!

Anyway, thats me, paranoid bloke from London, saying hello to all you fellow pedal-power people out there.

hey, good move getting a bike and using it to commute. because of whats happened in london, we're in high alert here in new york as well. i have to use the train most of the time though, but i'd much rather be on the bike.

thanks for that. I think it was a good move too also because it also seems to be having some positive effect on the waistline!
