Hello from Chicago
Hello everyone!
I'm a mom from Chicago, just purchased a used Jamis Ventura A2 to train for a sprint triathlon.
I swam competitively through college and stick to running nowadays because it's so convenient (just walk out the door and go). I raced one sprint triathlon before I had kids and loved it. Ran a marathon in 2013. For years, my fitness has taken a back seat to other priorities and responsibilities, so I'm excited to be training for something again!
I joined this forum hoping for support with cycling questions/bike mechanics questions. Happy to have found such an active forum!

Hi and welcome. If you have any questions about Chicago area riding, routes, group rides, etc feel free to reach out. I've done the Chicago triathlon a few times in the past and it's a fun one.

I'm faaaaaaar southeast side, so most groups are probably kind of far from me, but there are some good bike paths around here at least.
I'm actually registered for the Leon's Tri in Hammond, Indiana. The date works out better for me than the Chicago tri (beginning of June vs end of Aug).

Never mind on this, I thought the "ten post" qualification to add photos or check dm's only counted starting new threads, not creating new posts in existing threads.
Also, anyone have tips for how to make ten posts that aren't junk??? lol I'm afraid of making junk posts, but also I'm anxious to get to ten because 1) Someone suggested I add a photo of an issue and I am not allowed to do that yet and 2) It shows I have a DM but I can't check that either until I get to ten posts 🤣
I think I have four posts now 😅
