Hello from Boston (well, just outside)
I'm getting into biking after having rage-quit as a teen after the chain slipped off my overpriced department store bike for the 11 billionth time. I live in a pretty bike-friendly Boston suburb, so looking forward to restoring an old 3-speed and tooling around town

Greetings! Welcome to B.F! I grew up in Reading and commuted from Stoneham to Cambridge for years. I always enjoyed it (well.., not-so-much if I got detoured through Charlestown).
Be sure to visit For the Love of English 3-speeds sub-forum at the Classic & Vintage forum, here at B.F..

A.gutii Hah, yes, that definitely sounds like downtown. I’m about 20mins outside the city, right next to the Charles, so I’m pretty lucky to be near a great casual path

! I’d have replied sooner but I missed the “max 5 replies in 24 hours” rule when registering and ran out of posts for the day, oops. Hopefully I don’t run out today too….trying to remember to count haha.
pasoud Thank you!
rumrunn6 Howdy Neighbor! That’s so cool— I’m in Watertown near the Waltham line, you’re really close! If you have any recs for casual paths (I’m gonna be on a 3-speed and probably with my daughter who just got her first bike) you’d share, I’d love to hear!
