A big hello to all and sundry, my name is Ian and I have been cycling all my life, however my life changed when I discovered downhill, now my life revolves around hurling myself down the steepest hills around, one problem is I live in Nottingham which is flat as a pancake unless I go to Sherwood forest which I am sure you have all heard of (thanks to Robin Hood)but it's not really as nice as it looks in the films it's mainly pine which is nice but gets repetitive.
My second problem is that my riding buddies are fashion victims who think helmets look stupid and would rather descend gracefully, ie slow as hell. I need some new riding buddies near Nottingham who look upon cycling as a way of seeing the countryside and getting the adrenalin pumping. I will even lend my Dainese gimp suit and full face lid to anyone wanting to experience the downhill thrill ride.
I have just splashed out a fortune on a second hand jump bike as full suss bikes and dirt jumps don't mix, just too bouncy and front heavy. I can't wait to try it out.
In real life I am an Apple engineer working at Applecentre Nottingham doing repairs and tech support. My interests include: politics, cars, ps2, boozing and toking, comedy and lastly following the smoggies, ie Middlesbrough FC.
Anyone want to ride with me around Nottingham let me know.

I enjoyed visits to Nottingham while I was at college in Loughborough, but it must have changed a bit in the last 40 years, including no Raleigh bikes made there.
