more from the garden state

my first and only new bike i purchased at JC Penny's when i was 14, a 26" 10 speed called "Denim". The many bikes that followed over 62 years were hand me downs, garbage picks, and garage sale/ estate sale finds which i fixed and rode until another came along.
I'm a licensed amateur radio operator, or ham; and have been a bird watcher since 1973 when a science teacher got me interested in earth sciences and conservation. Somehow i still find time to enjoy getting out on a bike. The combination of exercise and wind in my face, and the scenery are all it takes. I'm hoping the Bike Forums will help me in getting the 4 current bikes i'm slowly bringing back to life. Thanks for having me!

Welcome, from across the river. There are some very experienced and helpful folks here. With a decent description of an issue and some photos, you'll get any technical question answered. BTW, the system requires 10 posts before putting up photos.

A fellow bird-watcher here. Greetings and welcome! I hear what you are saying. It's all about getting out and experiencing nature. In a car, you can drive a thousand miles and see hardly a thing.
Unless you climb the rungs strategically, you’re not going to build the muscle you need to stay at the top.
