Hello from a senior rider in the Bay Area

Hi, joined just now. Filled out some details in the Profile section and uploaded a bunch of pics. My start as a sport rider was a solo trip across Europe at age 19 in 1969. Now, retired from technical writing for the tech industry at age 73, I ride year-round in the Oakland Hills, where I live. Would like to get in touch with other Bay Area riders in my age group.

What brought me here was my intention to sell my 1954 Cinelli Model B, but that won't happen for a while as I've got to compile its history and photos. It IS a historic bike whose first owner, a TdF competitor, converted it to a fixie (known in Europe as a "torpedo") for intense early-season training. Its second owner was also a TdF competitor. I'm the third owner and about as far away from being a TdF competitor as it is possible to get. More to come!

JonnyCinelli cool story about your Cinelli. If you're like me it's hard to part with bikes. Yours has some cool history. As my age increases staying in the peloton is less of a goal than keeping it on two wheels and having fun. Must say your back yard does have lots of marvelous hills and roads. Probably not the best place for a "torpedo!" LOL
