I am in Victoria BC . my bike is a Talbot it was built at Carleton Cycle in Vancouver BC , Aug 1985. I still have the original build sheet parts list . i would tour the Gulf and San Jaun islands with this bike . i have never know anything other than old steel bikes . so i find it interesting that there is interest in old bikes like mine . at my age everything i have is Vintage !

Welcome to Bike Forums.
You'll find the PNW well represented here.

If you're going to ride the San Juans, a good set of climbin' gears will come in handy. But, since you're from BC you probably know that

Cheers!

Base 2 , The Talbot has good climbing gears , i did that touring in the 80s . touring is over for me now . with age and knee issues i now mostly use the climbing gears .

my cars are also vintage , one is a Royale , so thats where Roy Ale comes from !
