70km "recovery" ride heh... but darn it feels good to be back in the saddle.

Hi, I'm forrest, no gump jokes please.

I'm in ontario canada, and after a hiatus from cycling (work/medical reasons etc) I'm back with a vengeance.

I started cycling back in 1995 using an old raliegh big-horn 18spd as a commuter going to and from highschool, that soon led to doing epic centuries in and around southern ontario. I knew then and there that one day i'd have a roadie.

Currently my roadie is a Miele 12(ithink) speed. It is in near mint condition, I scored it at a garage sale for 50$. its a cromo frame (doublebutted) the components are nothing fancy and i've got one shifter that is a bit wonky (missing a spacer on the lever so due to the wrong tension it auto shifts into a higher gear on climbs)

in 1997 i bought a fisher bigsur, I dont ride much offroad stuff, but when I do its usually fast singletrack/fireroads nothing too technical.

So, how I got started cycling again, after several years hiatus. My sister in law is a triathlete (won a spot for iron-man wisconsin) so she asked me if i'd ride with her at one of her stomping grounds, so we met up and did the last 40km together... I didnt even come close to the wall, it felt so great, we climbed a few hills, and on the downhills we drafted to slingshot eachother to some scary fast speeds (I hit 105km/h). Yesterday was going to be a recovery ride, nice easy 25-30 km take it slow keep the heart rate down, and before i know it I've ridden 45km, so it turned into a 70 km ride.

So, its an off day, I figured I'd look to find some other locals to hook up with for some rides. Nice to meet all of you.

peace

Forrest, let me guess. Your parents are rich, and you and your brother are the only heirs...am I right?
