Hi there

Hello

New here, obviously. Hoping to join the community and identify my late 80's Raleigh.

Welcome to the form!
You have officially joined the community.
And it sounds like you have a late 80's Raleigh.
Perhaps others here could give you more about your bike than that.

Welcome, from SE Wisconsin.

I'm sure your Raleigh will be ID'd pretty quickly once you're able to post photos. Do so in the Vintage Bikes subforum.

To help with that, what kind of Raleigh is it? I'm guessing if it's old, it's either a road bike or an urban utility bike or a folder.

Welcome, from SE Wisconsin.

Raleigh is a storied brand. We had a couple of 70s Raleigh road bikes in my family. I wish I still had my dad's old one. (maybe I do...)

I bought this bike in Germany in the late 80’s. It began as a road bike, drop handle bars, thin racing tires. I was competing In triathlons at the time. It’s my third Raleigh. I had a green Raleigh in the 70’s, had that three speed shift on the handle bars. Classic Brooks leather seat. I also had, I believe, a white Raleigh Grand Prix in the late 70’s in Arizona.
